Earlier this season, over 300 of West Point’s faithful answered the call and traveled 13 hours to Daytona Beach, Fla. to watch the Green Wave beat Mainland High School 14-0.
This week, West Point fans are being called on again to make another journey. This trip isn’t nearly 13 hours and this game is the most important one of the season.
On Saturday night, the West Point Green Wave football team will take on Brookhaven for the 5A state championship.
“We need to make it feel like it’s a home game,” said West Point head coach Chris Chambless. “Brookhaven was bragging at the press conference about how many fans they were going to bring. We need to do our best to out-do them.”
Later this week, tickets will go on sale right here in West Point, at a discounted price of $12. They will be $13 at the gate.
Proceeds from tickets purchased in West Point go to the school as well.
“We need to pre-sale as many of them as possible,” said Chambless. “If we buy them here, the school gets a percentage of it.”
Keep reading the Daily Times Leader this week to find out when and where you can pick up your pre-sale tickets.
