Snowtown defeats Tibbee in regular season finale

OKOLONA – When the rain falls, it sometimes pour.
The Snowtown Stars rallied 19 runs on 14 hits to defeat the Tibbee Ramblers, 19-2, in the final regular season game of Tombigbee Waterways Baseball League (TWBL) Sunday.
The Stars ran away with the game in a 6-run sixth inning, which included a 2-run home run. Another homer in the seventh and an unearned run gave Snowtown a 16-2 advantage. Three more runs in the eighth gave Snowtown its final.
Tibbee’s pair of runs came from Tez Lane’s 2-run blast to center field in the sixth. The Ramblers left eight runners on base.
Ryan Unreh led Tibbee’s offense with two of the Ramblers’ six hits against the Stars.
Snowtown opened its scoring in the fourth with three runs and added five more in the following inning for an 8-0 advantage before the Ramblers scratched the scoreboard.
Tibbee begins the playoffs as the No. 3 seed out of the TWBL’s South Division. League officials have not yet determined when the playoffs will begin.
