Sign-ups for youth hoops and Dizzy Dean ongoing

With Christmas shopping just behind us and some still harsh economic times, the West Point Parks and Recreation Department has extended the deadline to sign-up for youth basketball.
The current deadline is January 15, which is a week from Saturday.
Also this week, the parks department began the process of registration for the 2011 Dizzy Dean season.
That includes the youth sports of t-ball, baseball and softball.
The registration period will conclude on February 28.
The parks department is looking to get an earlier start to the season this year, which is set to begin with a March 7 coaches meeting.
The regular season is set to start on April 4.
