Sally J. Goodson, age 82, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at North West Mississippi Medical Center in
Clarksdale.
Sally Jean Smith Goodson was born April 5, 1930, in Houston, to Sally Lou Griffin and Elbert Nathaniel Smith Sr. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Sally J. Goodson was married to James W. "Dutch" Goodson, who preceded her in death July 14, 2001.
Funeral services are today. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery near Hamilton. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her son, William Goodson (Evelyn) of Clarksdale; three grandchildren: Dawn Johnson, Patricia Presley and Jerry Tierney; two great- grandchildren: Grant Cooley and Cody Bentley; her sister, Dorothy Tate of West Point. Those preceding in death were her brother, Elbert N. "Sonny" Smith Jr.; five sisters: Annie Carter, Susie Mae Goodson, Betty Crisler, Bobbie Lee Yesner, and Hazel Smith.
Pallbearers are Dennis Johnson, Grant Cooley, Cody Bentley, Johnny Tate, Michael Smith, and Mark Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Pat Burke and Staff of N. W. MS Medical Center.
