Ruby Gibson "Dot" Beatty, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Dogwood Forest Assisted Living Facility in Gainesville, Ga.
Ruby Gibson "Dot" Beatty was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Columbus to the late Lida Bell Lollar and Linwood Gibson. She was a Case Worker with Clay County Welfare Department for 10 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. Mrs. Beatty has lived in Clay County and West Point since 1956. She married Lennis Beatty Dec. 29, 1951, in Columbus and he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2007 .
Funeral services are Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Columbus.

Survivors include two sons: Lennis Henry Beatty (Leslie) of Cordova, Tenn., and Michael Tyrone Beatty (Lisa) of Gainesville, Ga.; Three grandsons; and one great granddaughter; one sister, Lois McCullough of Columbus; Four brothers and one sister precede her in death.
Pallbearers are Eric Beatty, James Beatty, Chris Beatty, Gary Beatty, Lindley Beatty, Jr. and Sonny Gibson.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. T. N. Braddock and Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr.

Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Visitation is Saturday, May 4, 2012, from 1 p.m. until service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
