Harmon "Robbie" Robinson will be West Point's next mayor.
Results are unofficial, but the initial results indicate that Robinson is West Point mayor elect.
Electronic votes tallied show Robinson leading Darlene Cox 2,773 to 303 with just over 700 absentee ballots to be counted.
"First of all, I am so grateful to the city of West Point," Robinson said. "I think that our city is ready to move forward in a positive way."
Shortly before 9:30 p.m., Cox contacted the Daily Times Leader, congratulating Robinson on the win.
Robinson paused during celebration to congratulate Cox on a job well done.
"She ran a clean race," Robinson said. "She is a very worthy lady, and I appreciate her."
Robinson announced in January that he was seeking the office of mayor as Scott Ross, who had held the position for two terms withdrew his name from the race.
Cox was already in the race by that point.
