Robert Dale Bowen, age 54, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at his home in West Point. after an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 7, 1958, to Robert and Jean Bowen in Farmington, N.M. He was a member of Cross Point Church in Starkville.
A celebration service is 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Aberdeen. Pastors Scott Cappleman and Paul Matthews will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Bowen of West Point; his daughter, Jana Bowen Thornton (Michael) of Columbus; his son, Bobby Bowen of West Point; his mother, Jean Bowen of Aberdeen; his sister, Kathy Jordan (Drew) of Nashville, Tenn.; his brother, Greg Bowen (Cheryl) of Starkville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Denton and Barbara Roberts of Aberdeen; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his father and by his brother, Hal Bowen.
Pallbearers to serve are John Bales, the Honorable Kenny Burns, Dunlap Catledge, Kyle Chandler, Bill Colloredo, J.D. Easter, Dr. Pete Edwards, J.C. Evans, Dr. Rick Evans, Tommy Floyd, Jim Helveston, Pete Hodo, Sonny Jameson, Richard Justice, Foster Kennedy, Walter Lann, Bob Lee, Bob Marshall, Keith Mooney, Rodney Mortimer, Tommy Prince, Ronnie Roundtree, Mitch Scott, Jackie Spencer and Kenny Tisdale.
