Robert Bradley Floyd, age 43, of Memphis, Tenn., passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Shelley Gardner Floyd, and their two children: Kate (8) and Jake (5). Mr. Floyd was a devoted, caring and loving husband and father who was completely and passionately committed to his family. He is also survived by his parents, Kay and Tommy Floyd, and one brother, Brent Klutts, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends. To his many friends he was the consummate gentleman, sportsman, host and above all a loyal and trusted companion. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Robert Bradley Floyd was born Oct. 8, 1968, in Columbus, Miss. He graduated from Oak Hill Academy where he served as class president all 12 years, won the drama award several times for his many leading roles, played varsity tennis, and was awarded Outstanding Student and elected into the Hall of Fame his senior year. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Marketing. After receiving his marketing degree, Mr. Floyd was manager for Smith and Byars in Columbus. For the past 13 years, he served as Client Services Manager for Talent Force Staffing in Memphis, Tenn. Mr. Floyd was an avid fly fisherman who cared for and loved the outdoors. He was a regular platelet donor for Lifeblood and volunteer bell ringer for the Salvation Army as well as volunteer with the Angel Tree program. Mr. Floyd was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and loved the Lord with all his heart.
Funeral services are today, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 in Wilson Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church 4488 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tenn., at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Brad’s memory to St. Mary’s Episcopal School, 60 Perkins. Ext., Memphis, 38117 and Christ Methodist Day School, 411 S. Grove Park, Memphis, 38117.
