Robert 'Bobby' Fitzgerald

Robert “Bobby” Fitzgerald, 70, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Bobby was born March 9, 1943, in the Cairo Community of Clay County, the son of the late William Freeman and Annie Catherine Cockrell Fitzgerald. He was a member of the Cairo Presbyterian Church. He was a retired electrician, having worked at Southwire in Starkville. He married Betty Jo Coggins Fitzgerald Nov. 11, 1961.
Funeral services are today, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James
Hilderbrand officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery near Cedar Bluff.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Fitzgerald of Cedar Bluff; two sons: Robert Allen Fitzgerald (Deborah) of West Point and William David Fitzgerald (Jan) of Maben. three grandchildren: Rachel F. Poppelreiter (Josh), Caitlin Fitzgerald, and Courtney Fitzgerald and four great - grandchildren: Joshua Poppelreiter, Jr., Adaleigh Hollingsworth, Kasen Fitzgerald, and Kinsleigh Fitzgerald.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Edwards, Bob Edwards, John Edwards, Wally McGee, Dale Harris, and Donnie Coggins.
Honorary pallbearers are Employees at Southwire, Doctors and staff of North Mississippi Medical Center-Hospice Unit, Dr. Andrew Wartak and staff, Dr. Andrew Kellum and staff.
Memorials may be made to Cairo Cemetery Fund, c/o Judy Chrismond, 3836 Hwy 50 West, West Point, MS 39773.
Visitation is today, Friday, 10 – 11 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
