Robert “Rudy” Henry

Robert “Rudy” Henry age 86, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Robert Rudolph Henry was born June 17, 1926 in Mathiston, to the late Sylbia Jane Jones and Heron Otis Henry. Mr. Henry worked in the Material Department of Babcock & Wilcox Company for 26 years. Mr. Henry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a member of the West Point Lodge # 40,
Chapter 95, Council 16, Commandery 20, the Scottish Rite and the Hamasa Shrine Temple. A Veteran of U. S. Army having served in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany during WW II.  Robert “Rudy” Henry married Mary Opal Holloway Henry July 2, 1948, in Mathiston.
Funeral services are Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiating, assisted by Rev. Todd Chesser.  With Masonic Honor Burial Rites, burial to follow in Fellowship Cemetery near Mathiston.  Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Opal H. Henry, his three sons, Joe Henry (Melissa), Dale Henry (Dianne), Jeff “Pedro” Henry all of West Point, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four sisters, Willene Harper and Maudie Young (Gailon) all of West Point, Mary E. McClain of Douglasvile, Ga., and Anniece Breeland of Mathiston; and one brother, Burl Henry (Betty) of West Point. Brothers, Tim Henry, Glenn Henry, Owenton Henry, and a sister, Otis Darcy, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Darrell Shows, Jimmy Duke, Jonas Robinson, Corey Cantrell, Cameron Cantrell, and Chris Henley.
Honorary pallbearers are Burton Nix, Joe Wray, and Jimmy Dale Whitt.     
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 460 McCord Street, West Point, MS 39773.
Visitation is today, Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
