Rev. James H. "Skeet" Davis

Rev. James H. "Skeet" Davis, age 59, passed away, Friday, July 15, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in Tupelo, Miss.
James Harvin Davis was born Nov. 4, 1951, in West Point, Miss., to the late Sarah E. "Sis" Cartee and Bennie Davis. He was a Church of God minister for 35 years serving most recently at the Maben Church of God. He had worked for Prestage Farms for nine years. He was a member of Maben Church of God and was a Veteran of the U. S. Army having served during Vietnam. James Harvin "Skeet" Davis married Janice Davis, July 5, 1970 in West Point, Miss.
Funeral services are Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with his daughters, Samatha Gann and Ashley Robinson speaking for the family along with Mr. Bubba Davis. Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include wife, Janice D. Davis of West Point, Miss.; two daughters: Samantha Gann (Tink) of Amory, Miss., Ashley Robinson (Jud) of West Point, Miss.; two grandchildren: Ihle Gann and Marli Robinson; three brothers: Benny Ray Davis (Linda) of Aberdeen, Miss., Ronnie Davis (Cathy) of Cedar Bluff, Miss., and the Rev. Donnie Davis (Yvonne) of Sturgis, Miss. His sister, Glenda Carol Boland and brother Hubert Wayne Davis, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Chris Cliett, Steve Terry, Billy Parker, Larry Dodson, Bubba Davis, Jerry Davis, Jimmy Blankenship, and Byron Davis.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Maben Church of God, and his nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to donor's choice.
Visitation is Tuesday, 5 - 8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
