Resident asks to end water fluoridation

August 16, 2013

It took Chad Scott 25 agenda items to get his two minutes of public discourse at Tuesday night’s Board of Mayor and Selectmen meeting, but the local activist made the most of his time.

Scott, who has spoken on the issue of water fluoridation at past city and county board meetings, brought research to support his statements, calling for the city reduce or eliminate the use of fluoride in the local water supply. Scott said that two government agencies, the Centers for Disease and Control and the Environmental Protection Agency have conflicting opinions on the effectiveness and dangers of fluoride use.
