Raiders get first win of the season, 54-42

November 11, 2011

Oak Hill opened up the ball game with back-to-back three pointers by transfer AJ Jones.

Fans knew it was a good sign as the Raiders rolled out 20 points in the first quarter on their way to the first win of the season, 54-42 over Kirk Academy.

Jones finished 4-of-4 from behind the arch in the first quarter as the Raiders scored 14 unanswered points to take control 20-6 after the first intermission. Brian Middleton said he was a little surprised by the fast start.

“It seemed like everything we did was good, “he said. “AJ was on fire, our defense was good. Everything was clicking and that’s just opposite of what happened Tuesday. Kirk was a better team than Winston; we just did a better job tonight.”
