After falling at home in their first two ball games, the Oak Hill Academy Raiders (0-3) were hoping that they could find some magic on the road against Indianola last Friday night.
Unfortunately for the Raiders, whatever magic they had, they left here in West Point before making the trip.
Indianola gave Oak Hill its worst beating to date, with a 25-0 defeat of the Raiders.
It was a tough night to say the least, but it certainly does not spell the end of things for the Raiders, who still pack a lot of talent, coming into this week’s contest at Leake.
They are going to have to find a way to win on the road on Friday, because they do not return home until the next week, when they face Hebron.
The best news for Oak Hill is that they do not face off in a conference game until September 24, when they take on Carroll Academy.
This gives the young and growing team two more weeks to prepare for district play.
The unpleasant news for Oak Hill is that they will be facing a very potent offense at Leake tomorrow night.
In week one, Leake claimed a decisive win over Winston, a 55-19 massacre at home.
The next week, they hit the road to take on Hillcrest. This time, the results were even worse for the Leake opponent, who fell 40-0 in the game.
This puts Leake at a 2-0 record going into week four.
Last year, the Rebels were 7-4 overall, and they made it to the playoffs, only to be put out in the first round by Marshall.
When the Raiders and the Rebels faced off last year, Oak Hill was defeated 38-7 by Leake.
Oak Hill is going to have to get production out its young quarterbacks and their three main rushers on the ground in order to be successful this week.
They have been out scored 56-6 in the last two weeks by their opponents.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m., in Madden.
