The wonderful smells of a Thanksgiving feast wafted through the air on Brame Avenue outside of Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church at noon Wednesday. The Noonday Prayer Warriors have orchestrated a feast for the elderly, shut-in, homeless and disabled for nine years at Thanksgiving and have no intention of stopping.
âWe are thrilled to have fed over 2,000 people this year,â said Alma Brown, one of the Noonday Prayer Warriors. âThe service workers came out this year to help us serve, they are such a blessing to the whole community. People came to help from the banks, the Clay County Courthouse, we are so thankful to have people in the community who want to do for others. I want to thank them all. We are already planning for next year to be able to reach even more people.â
