Pogue, Smith wed

Heather Pogue and Paul Gregory Smith were united in marriage July 14, 2012, at a 2 p.m. ceremony at First Baptist Church of West Point with Bro. Chip Stevens officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Darrell and Delisa Pogue. She was given in marriage by her father, Darrell Pogue. Her bridal gown was by Maggie Sottero, a fit and flare lace bridal gown with halter neckline and key hole back. It was embellished lace on tulle with crystals over satin. She carried a bouquet of orange roses, orange calla lilies, hypericum and green spider mums.
The Maid of Honor was the sister of the bride, Brooke Pogue of Starkville. Her attendants were Kali Burney of Starkville and Abbie Smith of Louisville. The attendants wore Bari Jay gowns off the shoulder in forest green Bella chiffon. The dresses had a natural waist and were knee length. The attendants carried bouquets of orange calla lilies and hypericum.
The groom is the son of Paul and Dana Smith. The best man was brother of the groom, Maverick Monroe Smith. Groomsmen were Daniel Fisher of Aberdeen, Drew Smith of Louisville, and Lash Hughlett of Kentucky. Ushers were Daniel Fisher, Drew Smith and Lash Hughlett.
Pianist Anita Harris of Starkville provided the music.
Hostesses were Kristy Barnett and Aunt of the bride, Dorraine Burney.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The bride’s table was round with a white tablecloth with forest green overlay and white tulle. The wedding cake was a four-tiered round cake with an initial S. The groom’s cake was a three-tiered carrot cake topped off with duck calls surrounded by a wildlife scene including a small pond with duck decoys and cattails.
The rehearsal supper was held the night before in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
The couple then honeymooned on a cruise to Cozmel, Mexico.
The Smith’s now make their home in Starkville.
