Many upcoming projects were discussed at Wednesday’s meeting of the Pilot Club of West Point. February’s meeting will include the residents of the Henry Clay Retirement Center as the Pilots adopt residents as their sweetheart during the Valentine meeting. Club President, Michele Estes reminded the Pilots to draw a resident’s name for the party before leaving.
“We have a lot coming up in the next two months,” said Estes. “We are having our Pilot International Sweetheart party in February, then the Legends fundraiser will take place March 1.”
Legends is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Pilot Club. Estes announced this year’s theme as, “Music Royalty; Kings and Queens of American Music. Legends is an eagerly anticipated event where Pilots and volunteers from the community put on a show full of musical acts, said Estes. Last year’s rendition of “Maniac” by Mia Vick and Scott Reed was the talk of the town for months. The venue for this year’s Legends had not yet been decided by Wednesday’s meeting.
