Pauline Smith Robinson

West Point native Pauline Smith Robinson, 95, died Jan. 27, 2014, at Goodwin House in Alexandria, Va.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, Jan, 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Goodwin House Chapel with Rev. Dr. Clarence Brown, Jr., officiating.
A reception followed in the parlor.
Mrs. Robinson was born in West Point to Brabson and Fannie Hazelwood Smith, and was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest B. Smith, and husband, William C. Robinson. Mr. Robinson, a native of Senatobia, was a Navy veteran and former Vice-President of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. The couple moved to the Washington, D.C., area in the early 1940s.
Mrs. Robinson’s held jobs at the Washington Post and the War Department.
The Robinson’s adopted daughter, Barbara, died in 1992.
Mrs. Robinson was a member Annandale United Methodist Church. Her ties to Mississippi remained strong, and she visited West Point at every opportunity. She especially enjoyed the times she could attend Hazlewood Family reunions in the area. She moved to the Goodwin House retirement community in 2011.
She is survived by her three grandchildren: Nicholas, Melissa, and Ashley; and her two great – grandsons: Austin and Jayden. Her nephews and nieces are also West Point natives: Ernie Smith (Stephens City, Va.), Emily Harris (West Point), Cindy Wall (Atlanta, Ga.), and Sam Smith (Ft. Payne, Ala.)
