A 19-year-old is charged with beating and robbing a man and a juvenile on New Year's morning, and another suspect is being sought, West Point Police say.

According to a WPPD press release, Andre Lane is charged with armed robbery in the New Year's Day incident.

Officers responded to Avalon Street at about 1:40 a.m. and found an adult and a juvenile who had been assaulted and robbed. The adult told police he was pulled from the driver's seat of his car and beaten with a handgun by a man, thought to be Lane, while the assailant demanded money.

The juvenile got out of the car but was assaulted by another attacker, police said.

Both suspects were wearing masks.

The two attackers took $100 from the adult and fled in a silver Nissan Maxima.
