The Oak Hill varsity teams lost two games at the West Point Classic on Saturday at West Point High School. The Caledonia Confederates downed the Raiders 70-53, and the New Hope Lady Trojans rallied past the Lady Raiders 67-52.
In the boys’ game, Caledonia led Oak Hill 25-24 at the intermission. The Confederates expanded their lead to seven at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Raiders, who missed 23 free-throw attempts, were unable to keep pace with Caledonia, watching their deficit grow into double digits.
For the Lady Raiders, senior standout Sarah Dill exited the game with an apparent ankle sprain during the second quarter. Dill’s injury played a major factor as New Hope rallied past a 28-25, halftime deficit to tie the game at 40 apiece. The Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Raiders 27-12 in the final eight minutes.
Oak Hill plays Central Academy on Tuesday in Macon.
