OHA seniors gearing up against Carroll Academy tonight

January 31, 2013

Though the Raiders are out of district play until next week, head coach Brian Middleton and his Oak Hill team is setting to tune up against Carroll Academy.
On Tuesday night, the Raiders took a gritty road win over Lamar School 42-39 as they were looking to bounce back after two weekend losses against North Delta and Canton Academy. It was a tough, well-earned win as Oak Hill needed a pick up before the start of district tournament.
Tonight’s game will start following the completion of the girls’ varsity game on the campus of Oak Hill Academy. Also Oak Hill Basketball seniors will be recognized as the game against Carroll Academy is the final home game of the regular season.

This time of the season is when every coach in Mississippi wants their basketball team to start piecing the puzzle together. It seems like Oak Hill’s head coach Stan Hughey and his Lady Raiders may just be doing just that right now.
After a route of Lamar School 65-49 Tuesday night, Oak Hill has now stretched a winning streak to four games. This winning streak began against Immanuel Christian on January 22 with a 50-12 victory. The Lady Raiders face off with Carroll Academy in what should be another tune-up game before the district 2-AA tournament at Leake Academy next week.
Tonight is Senior night for the Lady Raiders and the senior girls will be recognized prior to tip-off. The game is set to start at 6:00 and will be the first game of the double-header.
