The Oak Hill Academy Raiders (3-6; 1-1) will look to make it two in a row against the Patriots of Marshall Academy (6-2; 2-1) tonight.
The two teams will go at in a non-district match that will include senior night for Oak Hill’s upper class men.
The final home game for the Raiders will be against a tough Marshall team that is riding a two-game win streak, both district games against Kirk and Indianola.
While the Patriots will be looking to get sharp for a likely playoff run, the Raiders’ playoff future lies at least a week away at Winston.
They will be trying to bring the same intensity and level of play they brought to the field last week against Kirk Academy.
After falling in a district match at Manchester two weeks ago, the Raiders responded with their best defensive game of the season last Friday night.
Already with three stellar running backs in the mix, Chance Livingston was added as a fourth in the second half of that game, and he won a spot on offense with the Raiders.
The sophomore will be in there with fellow sophomores Phillip Liu, Bo Sanford and senior Doss Miller.
The Raiders did not throw the ball a lot last week. Head coach Leroy Gregg says the running attack they used against Kirk was very effective, and fans can expect a lot more running this week against Marshall.
Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. tonight, preceded by the senior night festivities.
