Oak Hill splits with Hartfield

Sophomore Sarah Dill was the Lady Raider's leading scorer for the third consecutive game in a row, and Oak Hill (4-2) clinched a non-district win over the Hartfield Lady Hawks in a MAIS basketball game Saturday on the campus of Oak Hill Academy in West Point.
Rebekah Crair and Chloe Peavey led the Lady Hawks with their eight points each during the losing effort.
The Saturday contest wrapped up a four-game homestand, which the Lady Raiders won three of the four. Oak Hill dropped its one game against Starkville Academy (60-57) Nov. 14. The two teams rematched Monday in Starkville.
Oak Hill senior point guard Maegan Ellis scored all five of her points during the first quarter romp over Hartfield. The Lady Raiders outscored the Lady Hawks, 28-3, during the first eight minutes to place the game out of question.
The Lady Raiders would take a commanding lead over the Lady Hawks by halftime, 40-8, behind the scoring of Madison Collier and Dill as both combined for 10 points during the 12-point second quarter. Collier finished with eight points against Hartfield.
Hartfield narrowly outscored Oak Hill during the second half. The Lady Hawks led the Lady Raiders in the final 16 minutes, 16-14.
Bet Langley and Macie Allen scored four points a piece for the Lady Raiders in their fourth non-district win of the season.
