Oak Hill hosts Leake Academy

The Oak Hill Raiders (5-4; 2-2 District 2-AA) are wrapping up the regular season against Leake Academy in the last district game at 7 p.m. tonight on the campus of Oak Hill Academy in West Point.
Following a tough 49-14 loss to district opponent Canton Academy on the road, the Raiders are hoping to rebound with a more competitive contest with the Leake Rebels at home.
“It's going to be something we need to compete in,” Oak Hill Head Coach Daniel Merchant said. “For the first time this season, I didn't like how we responded to adversity against Canton. I think we had a good week of practice, we just need to make a bigger effort this Friday.”
One of the biggest talking points following the loss to Canton was the injury of Oak Hill sophomore running back Drew Riley. The Raiders' leading rusher received a shoulder injury that left him with Grade-one muscle tears. Despite the loss, Merchant wants his ball club to just focus on the task at hand.
