YAZOO CITY— A 44-9 halftime advantage was large enough to secure Oak Hill’s first District 2-AA win of the 2013-14 season, as the Lady Raiders (8-6; 1-1 District 2-AA) routed the Manchester Academy Lady Mavericks, 54-28, Saturday on the campus of Manchester Academy.
Sophomore Sarah Dill led Oak Hill with 14 points, senior point guard Maegan Ellis added 12 points and Sydney Holton contributed with nine points.
Senior Bet Langley pulled down seven boards in Oak Hill’s second straight win after a 44-14 triumph over Central Academy Thursday night in West Point.
The Lady Raiders lost their opening district game to the Leake Rebelettes, 80-62, Nov. 10 in Madden. The loss to Leake is the only defeat Oak Hill has suffered in the month of December, posting a 4-1 overall record.
In junior high action, the Lady Raiders picked up a win over the Lady Mavericks, 44-12. Tanner Grubbs and Julie Bristow led Oak Hill with 11 points each, and Anna Katherine Childress notched nine points during the win.
