Oak Hill Academy's basketball teams continue their holiday tournament stretch today in the Kirk Academy 2014 Basketball Classic in Grenada.
The Lady Raiders tip off against the Carroll Academy Lady Rebels at 10:30 a.m. on the campus of Kirk Academy, followed by the boys match-up with Carroll slated for 11:45 a.m. The opening games start a three-game stretch in the classic as Oak Hill will play North Delta School Friday afternoon and DeSoto School Saturday morning.
Oak Hill's first game of the Kirk Academy Classic serves up a rematch from Nov. 18 as Oak Hill swept Carroll in an early season match-up in West Point. In the previous contests, the Lady Raiders defeated the Lady Rebels, 70-42, and were led in the scoring column by Sarah Dill with 17 points. A similar decision came out of the boys game as the Raiders routed the Rebels, 78-36, picking up a solid performance from senior point guard Curt Huffman and his 17 points paced the red and white on the campus of Oak Hill Academy.
The Lady Raiders enter the weekend competition after splitting two games at the Hartfield Holiday Invitational in Flowood. A 41-30 win over Richland Friday evening and a 60-47 loss to Puckett handed Oak Hill a 10-7 overall record before the new year.
