Oak Hill boys remain in contention for crown

February 14, 2013

The Oak Hill Raiders clinched a berth into the MAIS AA State Tournament next week after a Wednesday victory over the Central Hinds Cougars.
In the quarterfinals, the Raiders outplayed the Cougars and soundly defeated the district 3-AA tournament champions 65-24. Oak Hill used great performances from Drake Riley and John Wesley Williamson to help propel themselves to the state tournament berth.
Head coach Brian Middleton and his young men remain in contention for the MAIS AA North crown as they retake the court tonight against the winner of the Indianola Academy/Leake Academy game that was played on Thursday. The semi-final is a step closer to validation for the Raiders as a team to watch in the AA classification.
Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. and will be played on the campus of Leake Academy in Madden. Stay tuned to the Daily Times Leader for further coverage of the Oak Hill Lady Raiders and Raiders postseason run.
