Multiple shots fired near Marston Court, none injured

November 12, 2012

At least 10 rounds of gunfire were reportedly heard Monday in the area of Brame Ave. near Marston Court Apartments where West Point police quickly responded to see if anyone had been injured.
Thankfully, when officers responded around 1:30 p.m., they found that no one had been injured but spoke with several individuals on scene to gather additional information about the incident. Shortly after interviewing several people, West Point investigators searched the area and found about five shell casings along Brame Ave.
West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley said no arrests had been made as of 5 p.m. Monday, but officers did detain three males who occupied a gray van from which one person reported the shots were fired from. Officers stopped the gray van off Brame Ave. and spoke with the three subjects before searching the van for additional casings or a weapon. No weapon was recovered, and no other shell casings were found in the van. Brinkley said nothing was recovered in the van that could link the van to the shooting.
At this time it is unclear what the target of the gunfire was, but the incident remains under investigation. Anyone who may have additional information on this case is asked to call the WPPD at 662-494-1244.
