Mr. and Mrs. Steven Morisak of Houston, Texas are pleased to announce the
engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carlea Alida Morisak,
to Garrett Pate Brock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Brock of Montpelier.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Matilda Platzer Morisak of Houston,
Texas, the late Harry Platzer, the late Steven Morisak and the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Coogan.
She is a 2001 graduate of Westside High School of Houston, Texas where
she was a member of the National Honor Society and President of the Future Business
Leaders of America. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2005 from
the University of Mississippi and is an alumni of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is currently
employed as the Director of Social Services at The Vosswood Nursing Home;
Life Care Centers of America in Houston, Texas.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack Pate Sr., and the
late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin D. Brock.
He is a 1998 graduate of Oak Hill Academy of West Point, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
He attended East Mississippi Community College, Scooba Campus and received an Associate
of Arts Degree. While at EMCC he was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He is
a 2004 graduate of Mississippi State University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Construction and Management. At MSU he was active in the Association of Landscape Contractors of America (ALCA) and served as President of the MSU Chapter. He is currently employed as the General Manager of Sullivan Land Services, LTD of Houston, Texas.
The happy couple will exchange vows Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at 7 p.m. on at the historic
All Saints Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. A reception will follow at the Courtyard on
St. James Place, also in Houston.
