This week’s Clay County Circuit Court session continued Monday and Tuesday with several cases continued, and others concluding.
Nathaniel Collins, 39, of Clay County pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon by a felon and was sentenced to 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), along with a $500 fine.
Collins was indicted and arraigned in April on charges of fondling, sexual battery and possession of a weapon by a felon.
According to court documents, Collins was previously convicted in 1998 in Cook County, Ill., for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for that crime but received an early release. Check out more court updates in today's Daily Times Leader.
