McClenton Tours adds second bus

August 12, 2010

Response to the fan bus ticket offered by McClenton Tours to West Point’s week-two match in Daytona Beach, Fla. has been great, according to Marion McClenton, owner of the company.
“It has been very good,” said McClenton on Wednesday. “The people are very excited.”
McClenton first offered one of his own buses in a package deal that included the price of the bus fare, game ticket and lodging. The total price is $178.
McClenton said that his bus quickly filled up, and he went right to work leasing another, 55 passenger bus.
Right now, McClenton said that there are only about 12-15 seats available on the second bus.
“Everybody’s looking forward to it,” McClenton said. “They can’t wait.”
McClenton said that the deal has been hard to pass up for many who did not have another way to go down to see West Point’s game against Mainland High School on August 27.
“It’s like a mini vacation,” he said. “They love West Point, and they can’t wait to support them.”
McClenton said that he has a 35 passenger bus on hold for any group that wants to go. This is not for individuals, and McClenton said that he will personally negotiate a good deal for any church or civic group that wants to make the trip.
“We’ll give them a great deal on the group bus,” he said. “But don’t wait until the last minute.”
The number to call for the group bus is 662-549-2437.
Individual tickets can be purchased at 494-3067 or by calling Mary Gibbs at 494-1144.
McClenton, a West Point native, said that he is not looking for huge profits, but for a chance to give something to the community.
“I love West Point, and I’ve been here all my life,” he said. “I’m ready to give something back.”
McClenton said that he will be supporting West Point athletics throughout the 2010-2011 school year.
