Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock
Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock, age 88, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at his home in the Montpelier Community. Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock was born June 18, 1922, in the Sparta Community of Chickasaw County to the late Mildred Davis Brock and Millard Brock. He was a farmer and had worked with the Clay County School System. Mr. Brock was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the United States Navy during WW II.
Marvin Delaine Brock married Mary Catherine Madison Brock on Dec. 22, 1944; in Clay County, she preceded him
in death on July 7, 1983.
Funeral services are Thursday, Oc. 6, 2010, at 10 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery at Montpelier, Mississippi. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters: Lynne B. Simmons (Leon) and Cathy B. McKinney (Jimmy) all of West Point; three sons: Kenneth Brock of Seiverville, Tenn., Eddie Brock (Sandra) of Mathiston, Gary Brock (Roxie) of Montpelier; ten grandchildren: two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and a number of niecesand nephews. Marvin D. "Shorty" Brock was also predeceased by his great grandson, Pruitt Marshall; sisters: Ethel Geeseka, Bera Murray; brothers: Fred Brock, and Denzel Brock
Pallbearers are Leon Simmons, Jimmy McKinney, Randy Nash, Jim Murray, Tommy Wills, H. M. Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers are friends in the Clay County School System and the Montpelier Community.

Visitation is Wednesday, 5\-7 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
