Lucile Dexter Friday
Lucile Dexter Friday, age 97, passed away, Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle, in Columbus.
Lucile Dexter Friday was born Nov. 18, 1912, in Clay County to the late Daisy Beatrice Lofton and Eugene Hamilton Dexter. Mrs. Friday was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in West Point. Lucille Friday married Curtis Roy Friday, Jr. on Dec. 26, 1940, at the Church of the Resurrection in Starkville. He predeceased her on June 24, 1986.
Funeral services are Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Father Karl Schaffenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery of West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Ann âBethâ Scarborough (Doug) of Cocoa, Fla.; two sons: William A. Friday (Rita) of Huntsville, Curtis R. Friday, III (Sylvia) of Columbus; one son-in-law Paul Murray of Starkville; eight grandchildren: Anita Currie (Paul), Clay Scarborough, Sarah Butler (Kevin), Mary Beth Cope (Jamie), Jennifer Harthcock, Frank Scarborough, Jan Scarborough, and Billy Scarborough; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Surviving nephews are James Fowler (Maudine), Joe Fowler (Janice), and Gene Fowler (Ruth) all of West Point. Mrs.
Friday was preceded in death by her daughter Virginia Dexter Friday Murray, grandson Steven Scarborough,
stepbrother John (Mary Ott) Fowler; nephew Roy Fowler and niece Johnette Etheridge.
Honorary pallbearers are Her church family at Church of the Incarnation.
