Loyd Eugene Ferguson
Loyd Eugene Ferguson, age 79, passed away, Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn.
Loyd Eugene Ferguson was born April 6, 1932, in Pheba, to the late Olive Lavonia Gammill Ferguson and Elmer Edward Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections where he was a Corrections Officer for 20 years. He was a Methodist and an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mrs. Doris Pauline Hodnett Ferguson, who passed away January 2, 1987.
Graveside services are Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at 1 p.m. from Greenwood Cemetery in West Point, with Reverend Mike Mathena officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife: Wanda Rupert Ferguson of Chuckey, Tenn.; daughter, Doris Ferguson Volz of Memphis, Tenn.; step-daughter: Barbara Monk (Roy) of Greeneville, Tenn.; two step-sons: Jim G'Fellers (Patsy) of Chuckey, Tenn., and
Larry Landers (Gail) of Greeneville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Sara L. Lemmons of Columbus, Miss.; sister-in-law: Connie Garza (Simon) of Jonesboro, Ga.; one brother-in-law: J.T. Hodnett (Leora) of Cedar Bluff; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
