DTL Staff

The Clay County chapter of the United Way is set to host its Campaign Kickoff Luncheon noon Oct. 24 at the Civic.
Bobby Cole, local author of The Dummy Line and Moon Underfoot, will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon.
United Way raises and allocates funds for 14 human service organizations serving the residents of Clay County. Stacy Hays, executive director of United Way of Clay County, explained that these agencies touch the lives of thousands of people each year.
“We do this every year,” said Hays. “It’s an hour-long luncheon where we recognize volunteers and announce our goals for the year. It’s a celebration of everyone involved with United Way.”
Agencies funded by United Way of Clay County are the Golden Triangle Area Agency on Aging, the American Red Cross, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Contact Helpline, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Clay County ARC, 4-H, Clay County Diabetes Assistance Fund, Clay County Day Care, Recovery House, Safe Haven, Project Homestead Food Pantry and Sally Kate Winters Family Services.
