Local housing market down some, still stable

While residential construction nationwide has increased during the last year, and even in the last month — up 5.9 percent in July — West Point and Clay County haven’t necessarily followed the same trend.

Ben Perry Green, senior vice president for the lending division of Renasant Bank in West Point, said new residential construction lending at his establishment was steady but “certainly not booming.”
