Larry Gene Walker Sr.
Larry Gene Walker Sr., age 63, passed away, Saturday, June 2, 2012, at St. Dominic Hospital, in Jackson.
Larry Gene Walker, Sr. was born July 23, 1948, in Starkville, to Mary Z. Petty Walker and the late Burney James Walker. Mr. Walker worked at The Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County. He was of the Baptist faith. Larry Gene Walker Sr. married Donna P. Coleman Walker July 31, 1970, in West Point.
Funeral services are today, Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial
Garden Cemetery in West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Coleman Walker of Pearl; one daughter, Misty Walker McAlpin (Chad) of Mize; two sons: Larry Gene Walker Jr., (Becky) of Harrisville, and Brad Walker (Monica) of Mendenhall; eight grandchildren: Juli McCurdy, Lacey Dempsey, Zachary Lee, Cole Waker, Alyssa Walker, Ayden Busby, Lexi Grantham, and Reilly McAlpin; one great grandson, Jayson Scott Dempsey; his mother, Mary Z. Walker of Starkville; his aunt and Uncle, Liz and Richard
Palmer of El Paso, Texas.
Pallbearers are Buddy Johnston, Rick Sharp, Earl Clardy, Austin Clardy, Chris Spencer, and I. C. Kincade.
Honorary pallbearers are Cletus Alford, Mike Parker, John Miller, Nicky Spencer, his co-workers at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility.
Visitation is Monday, June 4, 2012, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
