Lady Wave seeks second straight district win

The Lady Wave are coming off a tough weekend after two losses to New Hope and Starkville. In district play against New Hope, West Point had a difficult time with an experience Lady Trojans losing 67-26. The loss to New Hope last Friday night brought West Point’s district 2 5-A record to an even 1-1. On Saturday night, West Point gave relentless effort but fell short to the Lady Jackets 63-50.
The opponents for tonight’s game, the Lady Chargers, are coming off a district victory against Saltillo 65-40 last Friday night. Following the win over Saltillo, Oxford currently is 1-1 in the district.
Tonight’s meeting will be the first this season between West Point and Oxford as both teams will look to gain the number two spot in the district.
The game is set to tip-off at six o’clock and will be played at the West Point High School gym.
West Point looks to continue district winning ways

After a thrilling comeback win over district-mate New Hope last Friday night, the Green Wave want to continue their winning ways tonight against the Oxford Chargers.
Trailing by thirteen at halftime, the Wave continually chipped away at the Trojan lead until a final breakthrough in the fourth quarter giving West Point the very important home district win. The win over New Hope gave West Point a 1-1 record in district 2 5-A and a new look in district play.
The Oxford Chargers too were looking for their first district win last Friday night in Saltilllo. The Chargers were the victor in a 62-57 over the Tigers bringing Oxford’s district record to 1-1.
This match-up will be the first this season between the Wave and the Chargers as both teams will look to pick up their second win in the district.
The boys game is set to tip-off around 7:30 or ten minutes following the completion of the Lady Wave’s game against Oxford. The contest will be played at the West Point High School gym.
