Lady Raiders tip-off the new season

The Oak Hill Academy Lady Raiders will return to the hardwood this afternoon when they take on MAIS Class AAA Jackson Academy at the Canton Academy preseason tournament.

Schedule times have been changed with the varsity girls tipping off at 4 p.m. and junior varsity starting at 5 p.m.

It will be the first test for head coach Stan Hughey and the girls who for the most part have been getting in shape for the new season despite a few scrimmages along the way after a very productive summer.

Oak Hill, who for the last two seasons have been undefeated in district play, will face off against a Lady Raiders team who finished with 25 wins last season on their way to a Class AAA state title. They would later lose to Brookhaven in the overall girls state championship game 54-44.
