Lady Raiders take road win, but can’t get over Leake hump

January 14, 2013

For the second time this year, the Lady Raiders fell to their competition for the district title. After a blowout 66-36 win over Canton Academy the previous night, Oak Hill was unable to get into any sort of rhythm Saturday evening against top ranked Leake Academy in a 51-68 loss in front of a sold-out crowd.
Maegen Ellis led Oak Hill in scoring Friday night with 15 points. Sarah Dill was close behind with 14, followed by 12 from Rachel Herndon and 10 from Shay Atkins. Anna Ready and Lauren Billington finished with eight and five points, respectively. Bet Langley rounded out the scoring with one basket.
Shay Atkins had a sensational game Saturday with 21 points and nine rebounds. Maegen Ellis added 13 of her own, while Anna Ready and Rachel Herndon scored seven and six points, respectively. Shelby Tyler and Sarah Dill rounded out the scoring with two and one point.
