Lady Raiders respond to emotional loss with big win

January 17, 2013

Three days after a tough loss at home to district rival Leake, the Lady Raiders got back on their feet with a 22-point victory over Winston Academy to the tune of 58 points. Using balanced scoring and great ball movement, Oak Hill put the 11-point game away the 39-28 game in the final quarter by outscoring the Lady Patriots 19-8 to secure the home victory. The Lady Raiders will travel to Yazoo City tonight for a rematch with Manchester Academy and then a trip over to Starkville Saturday afternoon for a rematch with top-ranked Starkville Academy.
Rachel Herndon and Sarah Dill led Oak Hill in scoring with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Shay Atkins added 12 of her own, followed by Maegen Ellis’ nine points. Bet Langley finished with six, and Shelby Tyler rounded out the scoring with two points.
