In Sunday’s edition of the Daily Times Leader, the Oak Hill Academy girls recap from Lamar ran in place of the boys’ story.

In the season’s final home game, against Lamar, the Oak Hill Academy Raiders spread the offense around just right, completing a 42-40 win over the visitors.
Lamar jumped out to an 8-7 lead after one and continued its lead after two, going into the half with a 21-17 lead.
In the second half, however, the Oak Hill boys’ defense stepped it up, allowing just five points to the Lamar boys, while scoring 14 in the third period.
In the fourth, Lamar came back for a 14-11 final frame, but Oak Hill held the attack off just in time to claim the two-point victory.
John Wesley Williamson led the squad with nine points. Sophomores Reid Posey (7) and Conner Baird (6) were next in scoring.
Steven Jones and Jeb Stevens both had five points, and Zach Bryan and Phillip Liu had four each. Jacob Dickens rounded things out with a pair of points on the night.
On Monday night, the Raiders returned to the court to face the Kirk Academy Raiders in Grenada. This was a three-point final, but it was Kirk, this time, which came out on top 50-47.
Oak Hill jumped out to an early 11-9 lead over the home team. It was the Kirk squad, however, that won out the second quarter, out-scoring Oak Hill 8-6 to lead the two teams to a 17-17 halftime tie.
In the third, Oak Hill made its biggest push of the night to slip away from Kirk, scoring 15 points, while holding the home Raiders to just 11.
The fourth, however, was a different story, as the Oak Hill defense proceeded to allow 22 points in the final eight minutes. Despite another 15-point performance, Oak Hill would fall by three.
Steven Jones led the Oak Hill bunch in this game with 21 points. Reid Posey had 10 points, and John Wesley Williamson and Zach Bryan had seven each. Conner Baird finished the game with two.
The Raiders will start district tournament play this Friday night, playing at Winston at 5:30
