Kathleen Miller Jaco, age 94, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga.
Mrs. Jaco was born Dec. 3, 1917, in West Point, to the late Robert Esmond and Madeline Christopher Miller.
After graduation from West Point High School, Mrs. Jaco worked as a bookkeeper for Bryan Brothers Packing Company and Moseley Implement Company before starting Miller Brother Dairy with her brothers Guy, Frank, and Jack. In her later years she moved to Sevierville, Tenn., and later to Dalton, Ga. Mrs. Jaco was a member of the First United Methodist Church in West Point.
Mrs. Jaco was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Maples Jaco; four brothers John Esmond Miller, Robert Guy Miller, Charles Franklin Miller, and Jack McDowell Miller; sister Adele Miller Kilpatrick, niece Evelyn Kilpatrick Hamilton, and stepson Charles Maples Jaco, Jr.
Survivors include a nephew, Carl Robert Miller of West Point; three nieces: Gail Miller Foote (Daniel) of Dalton, Ga., Joyce Miller Robertson (Boyd) of Brandon, and Jane Miller Allison (David) of Shreveport, La.; a stepson, Ben Dorris Jaco
(Elizabeth) of Knoxville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter-in-law, Jennie Earle Cox Jaco of Rock Hill, S.C.; four great nieces, and three great nephews.
Services are Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point, Mississippi, is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Carl Miller, Cody Miller, Carson Miller, Daniel Foote, Boyd Robertson, and David Allison.
Honorary pallbearers are Com. William C. Hamilton, Ben Jaco, Dr. Gordon Hazard, Richard Hazelwood, Dr. Robert Simmons and the staff of Dalton Family Practice, and the staff of Royal Oaks Retirement Community.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 293, West Point, MS 39773, or to the Sally Kate Winters Family Services, P. O. Box 1233, West Point, MS.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon - 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
