Jo Gillespie, age 73, passed away, Monday, August 15, 2011, at her home, in West Point. Jo Ellen
Roberts Gillespie was born November 2, 1937, in Pontotoc, Miss. to the late Irene Tutor and Edgar Roberts. She was a Machine Operator at West Point Casket Company and most recently as a court bailiff for the Clay County Sheriff Department and was a member of West End Baptist Church. Jo Roberts Gillespie married Glenn Gillespie on April 24, 1954, in Pontotoc, he preceded her on December 9, 2006.
Funeral services are Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Jerome Key officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery West Point, Miss. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Mize (Murray) of West Point; one son, David Gillespie (Marsha) of Columbus, NC; two grandchildren; Jennifer Shirley (Travis) and Summer Danovsky (Brian); four great grandchildren, Matthew Shirley, Katlyn Danovsky, Logan Danovsky, and Nathan Shirley; three sisters, Bernice Jenkins and Evelyn Walls both of Pontotoc, Merle Goulart of Salenas, Calif.; two brothers, Keith Roberts (Ann) of Tupelo, Royce Roberts (Sue) of Pontotoc. Brother in law, Keith Gillespie (Faye) of Oxford. Brother and sisters Doyle Roberts, Dorthy Morphis, Idelle Phillips, also preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Hancock, Ryan Boykin, Marc McClure, Eddie Scott, Wesley York, and Jeff Hosford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Judge Lee H. Howard, Judge Jim Kitchens, and Bob Harrell.

Visitation will be today, Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 5-8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
