Jan Harrell Stanley

Jan Harrell Stanley, age 61, passed away, Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Edward White Hospital, in St. Petersburg, Fla. Janet Leigh Harrell Stanley was born Nov. 25, 1949, in Augusta, Ga., to Doris May Harrell and the late Maj. Sterling L. Harrell Sr. She was a High School Business Education Teacher for 30 years retiring in 2002. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, EPC. Jan enjoyed deep-water fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and she loved to cook. Jan Harrell Stanley married Kirk Alan Stanley on Feb. 14, 1992, at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church St. in Petersburg, Fla.
Funeral services are Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery West Point, Miss. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Kirk A. Stanley of St. Petersburg, Fla.: stepdaughter, Susan Reitz of Melbourne, Fla.; stepson, Ryan Stanley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren: Cameron, Calista, Maddie and Marissa Stanley; her mother Doris May Harrell of West Point, Miss.; one brother, Sterling L. Harrell, Jr. (Tommie) of Macon, Miss.
Pallbearers are Andy Elms, Ray Brand, R. B. Davis, Rush Robinson, Billy Buck Staggers, and Jim Trenor.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 8217, Jackson, MS 39284 or to St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Visitation is Thursday, June 30, 2011, from noon until service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
