James “Curry” Crowson

James “Curry” Crowson, age 89, passed away Sunday Sept. 18, 2011, at Oktibbeha County Hospital.
James Crowson was born July 6, 1922, in Eupora, to the late Arnold Crowson and Monnie Kyle. He attended Hebron Baptist Church and was retired from the State Highway Department. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII.
Funeral services were Wednesday Sep. 21, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. R.C. Bryan officiating and Rev. Andy Parrish assisting. Burial followed in Hebron Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Mitchell, Mike Blakeney, Donald Watson, Jon Hamilton, James Dill, and Frank Walker.
He is survived by a son, Jimmy Crowson of Cedar Bluff; three daughters: Linda Wellons of Cedar Bluff, Pam Hamilton of Pace, Fla., and Angela Crowson of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters: Lucille Sosnoski of Salem, Mass., and Jean Hodges of Olive Branch; three grandchildren: Sean Fama, Christian Fama, and Nicole Fama; five great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Montell Crowson.
