Immanuel tops Oak Hill 14-12

October 28, 2011

Oak Hill's freshman class got a pair of touchdowns Friday night, but it wasn't enough to get a victory as the Raiders dropped to 0-10 on the season following a 14-12 district loss to Immanuel in West Point.

The Raiders had the game's first scoring opportunity only to have their field-goal attempt from 27-yards out blocked. Two possessions later and the Rams took the lead with a 68-yard touchdown pass by Darius Jones to Jason Davis. A two-point conversion made it 8-0

The Raiders found the scoreboard on their next possession when quarterback Riley Pierce found Bradley Allen for a 9-yard score, 8-6 Immanuel.

Oak Hill took the lead for the first time with a two-yard touchdown run by Drake Riley early in the fourth quarter, however the Rams took the wind right out of their sails as Michael Tate returned the ensuing kick-off 95-yards for the touchdown.

"We're so young with skill backs," head coach Benjie Merchant said. "The future looks good. I hate it for our seniors this year not winning a game, but we got it build it one block at a time."
