Helen Hazlewood Clifton

Helen Hazlewood Clifton, age 89, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center, in West Point. She was born May 18, 1923, in Union County, to the late Lula Crumpton and John Fernando Herring. Mrs. Clifton was a Nurses Aide at Ivy Memorial Hospital and a member of the Pentecostal Church. Husbands, Sidney Earl Hazlewood, Nov. 10, 1969, and Thomas K. Clifton, Aug. 13, 1993, preceded her in death.
Funeral services are Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Danny Avery officiating, assisted by Bro. Chris Craven and Bro. Mike McPherson. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters: Sylvia McKee (Robert) of Cedar Bluff, Alice Eaton (Darrell) of West Point; and two sons: Johnny Hazlewood of West Point, Bobby Hazlewood (Dyann) of Cedar Bluff; 10 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; one brother, Austin P. Herriing of Memphis, Tenn. Her son, Eddie Hazlewood, preceded her in death.
Pallbearers are Eddie Hazlewood, Rowland Morris, Maverick Eaton, Robbin Morris, Gregory Moore, and Jeffrey Moore
Honorary pallbearers are Colby Morris, Casey Morris, Chance Livingston, Scout Morris, Russell Morris, Preston Hall, Josh Hancock and Landon Golson.
Memorials may be made to Cairo Cemetery Care Fund, c/o Judy Chrismond, 3836 Hwy 50 West, West Point, MS 39773.
Visitation is Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
