Thanks to a good showing at the Immanuel Christian Tournament last week, the Hebron Christian Lady Eagles will not have to re-enter the basketball season on a two-game losing streak.
The Lady Eagles had been defeated by Leake and Oak Hill, consecutively, to end the portion of the season prior to Christmas, but they returned for two games in last week’s tourney and got two wins.
They will take that momentum into tonight’s match against Winston Academy.
The Lady Eagles began the season on a torrid march toward 13 victories without a single loss until they faced the Leake girls in early December. The next Monday, they faced Oak Hill at home and lost there.
Last week, they defeated East Webster and Vardaman.
The Lady Eagles have been led all year by junior Tori Nichols and senior Cathryn Moore.
Hillary Arnold, Ruth Foster and Magen Tapley have all done a good job on the outside for the Lady Eagles. Beverly Blake, Rachel Spressao and Chloe Tapley have contributed greatly to the varsity team as well.
The junior high action will start at 4 p.m for the two teams, and the girls team will immediately follow.
