Hebron splits with Winona

Hebron continued to move up the district tables on Friday with a 44-23 win over Winona.
The victory, their fourth in a row, moved them to 4-1 in the standings, second to only Kemper.
The Lady Eagles, 15-7, jumped out to a 15-2 lead after the first quarter, really keeping the Stars on their heels offensively.
Winona clamped down in the second quarter, forcing several turnovers with a 3-2 half court trap and scored nine points. They still trailed by double digits at the half, 23-11.
The Lady Eagles used several defensive schemes to shut down Winona’s three point shooting, switching from man-to-man and 1-3-1 . It worked.
Tori Ellis finished with 21-points and Alaina Hill knocked down 15 in the win.

Boys: Winona 58-44 Hebron

Ben Pearson and Hayden Carty combined for 28-points as Hebron were handed their fourth loss in six games at home Friday night.
Down 15-9 in the first, the Eagles exploded in the second with 21-points as a team and grab a 30-25 lead at the half.
Winona bounced back in the second half, outscoring Hebron 33-14, including 13-5 in the fourth quarter to pick up a crucial district win.
